Rock, Canopy and Trail Adventures

The Hocking Hills regions is host to many great rock adventures, canopy and trail tours. Add some thrills when exploring the hills fly down a zipline, rappell down a cliff, rock climbing or explore a trek down an adventure trail!

High Rock Adventures offers rock adventures and ecotours on their private property. Test your nerves, strength and endurance on a rock climbing, rock reppelling or rock challenge. Rappelling and rock climbing tours range from 35 foot to 100 foot and flat wall, canyon or overhang tours. Tours take between 6 and 7 hours.

Take your group on a Rock Challenge that includes rock halls, squeezes, bouldering challenges, crawls, ascents and descents, without harnessed climbing or rappelling. Great for groups or families!

Hocking Hills Canopy Tours are a great way explore the region for adventure seakers. There are 10 tours offered by the company that include zipline tours, segway tours, driving tour and rock climbing and rapelling tours. The zip line tours start with the Introduction, which gives you a quick training course for ziplining safety.

The adventure tours include The Original Canopy Tour, The "X" Tour, SuperZip, Moonshie Tours, Discovery Tour, Dragonfly for Kids, Off-road Segway Adventure, Rockbridge Encounter and Zip and Climb or Zip and Rappel packages.

The Trek Network offers some awesome reppelling, rock climbing, guided hikes, archery and belly boat fishing treks. Rappell Ohio's Largest Waterfall at 115 feet, learn how to rock climb, take a combo rappelling and rock climbings trek or have an archery competition as your group takes the introductory course.

Their lead guides for climbing and rappelling include American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) certified Single Pitch instructors (SPI's), US Army veterans, professional rescue team members and rock enthusiasts. Most of their treks occur in the Hocking State Forest, at the State Rock Climbing and Repelling Area.

Ultimate Zipline Adventures is located in Logan, OH and opened in 2020 has ziplines and high rope game challenges. The tour area has 30 different activities on 17 ziplines and 19 high ropes game challenges. Adventures can choose between two paths. The Ulitimate Course take the full Ulitmate Course with high ropes games and 15 ziplines or the Ultimate Zip on 12 ziplines.

There is also a Kids course for kid adventurers age 10 and under. They are also building the Innova Disc 18 hole golf course on 160 acres! They are located at 15103 OH-664 Scenic, Logan, OH 43138. Valley Zipline Tours Valley Zipline Tours is a family owned and operated adventure business located just outside of Lancaster, OH in the northern edge of the Hocking Hills. They have been open since 2012 and their course has 9 ziplines totalling over 5,000 feet over their scenic 53 acre property.

The full course offers 9 thrilling zips including thee Tree Top Zip Lines, The Monster Zip, The Dual Racer and The Quarter Mile Zip. The entire course take approximatly 1 1/2 hours to complete!

River, Lake and Horseback Adventures

The Hocking River flows through the region and is as great way to explore and have fun on the water. The class one river slow moving and is a great way to enjoy the scenic river. The are many canoe liveries with experienced guides to provide a memorable expeience a canoe, kayak or tube.

The region has state forest and parks with miles of designated horse trails and camps. Enjoy the beauty of the forest on horseback. There are many ranches that provided guided horseback tours and have horses that fit the skills of the riders.

Happy Trails horseback riding through scenic trails. The have guided horse rides from beginner to advanced that begin with a brief riding demonstration by the guide.

The guided riding packages range from 1 hour rides top all day. The horse rides are generally for riders 7 years and older. They do have a handed pony ride in their pen for kids under 7. Fox's Hocking Hills Canoe Livery opened in 1996 and offers canoe, kayak or rafting tours or hourly rentals on the Hocking River. The river is usually slow moving and considered class 1. Tours take approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the current, paddlers and canoe, kayak or raft.

There are 3 river tours they offer, Crockett's Trip, Moonlight Tour and the Moonlight Float. The Moonlight Tour & Float sell out, as adventurers paddle from sunset to the moonlight and end back at the livery for a bon-fire, smores and live local bluegrass band! Lake Logan Marina offers boat rentals on Lake Logan. They rent pontoon boats, kayaks, pedel boats and stand up paddle boards (SUP boards). There are different sized rental boats to fit your group. Take and afternoon and explore the lake and fun in the sun!

Rental boats and boards are available at an hourly rate, with minimum number of hours. The rental season is generally May through October. They are located at 30443 Lake Logan Rd Logan, OH 43138. Murray's Landing Canoe and Kayak Livery offers canoe, kayak and tubing float river trips through Adventure Pro Outdoors. Ther is a 3 mile, 6 mile and 8 mile river trips. For those on the float trips, you can also rent a cooler tube to float with you.

The 3 mile trip takes 1 to 2 hours for canoe / kayak and 2 to 4 hours in a tube. The rental season is generally May through October. They are located at 1299 E. Canal St. Nelsonville, OH 45764. The Original Hocking Hills Adventures has been family owned and operated since 1976. Hocking Hills Adventures two to five-hour river trips in a canoe or kayak, or enjoy a leisurely float with a raft or tube on the Hocking River. They offer featured river trip pacakages, including Natural Rockbridge Trip, Moonlight River Tour, Crockett's Run Tour and the Hocking Hills Tubing Trip.

The Spotted Horse Ranch offers guided horseback riding with your own horse or riding theirs. They offer 1 hour and 2 hours horseback rides or you can enjoy the Cowboy Cookout Ride! The Cowboy Cookout rides require reservation and often book up. It includes a 2 hour ride and then enjoy complementary cowboy food cooked over and open fire.

Golf, Games and Gears Adventures

The Hocking Hills region is host to some great mini golf, disc golf, games, ropes courses, paintball park and things that go fast with gears. Check out the go kart tracks, ATV/UTV tour adventures, train adventures and arial tour and the Polaris Slingshot cruise!

Adventure Golf at Rempel's Grove mini-golf course is a fabulous! There are challenging holes with water features througout the course, cave and pleanty of fun obstacles to go through and around. It is fun for the entire faimly. They also have NIGHT TIME MINI-GOLF on Saturday nights in the Summer!

Ruby's petting zoo is at the Grove too! After a challengeing game of mini-golf, stop next door for some fabulous ice cream at the Treehouse Treats and Treasures!

Adventure Pro Outdoors has been in business since 2014, offering ATV / UTV (all-terrain vehicle) rentals to explore the Wayne National Forest offroad! Wayne National Forest has over 75 miles of designated trails for off-road vehicles. Their experienced guides will take you on a series of easy to intermediate trails helping create an awesome adventure! The adventures are for beginners and experienced ATV/UTV riders.

They have a large selection of ATV / UTV rentals including CForce 600 Touring ATV, Polaris RZR 900 Trail UTV and more. The rental season is generally April through October. Bury the Axe is a hatchet throwing bar in the Hungary Buffalo complex. Participants must be 18 years and older. Online reservations are recommended and there are hourly rates per person.

Strict rules are provided to all players and must be followed. There are a maximum of 6 players per lane and they follow the WATL rules.

Hocking Hills Mini-Golf course is challenging course at the Hocking Hills Market in Rockbridge! There are challenging holes with fun for the family! They often have Facebook discounts, so check out their page before you go!

Hocking Hills Scenic Air Tours will take your trip to the hills to an new level. This adventure is absoutly amazing in the fall! Take and adventure and fly the sky trails above Hocking Hills and see the fascinating geological features, regional information and special points of interest offered by our local, veteran pilot and tour guide with 40 years' flying experience. Safe, fun, and interesting flights are available for all ages year-round. They are conveniently located at the Vinton County Airport between Logan and McArthur, Ohio.

Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is a great experience for the entire family. The railway has been run by passionate volunteers for over forty years! The Nelsonville Depot is a historical train station where you purchase your tickets and board the trains!

They offer themed train excursion, including the Easter Bunny Train, Ohio's Friendliest Train Robbery, All Caboose Train, Trains to Robins Crossing, October Fall Foliage trains, Santa Train and a New Years and Fireworks Train. They also run weekend train trips May through October.

The train receives funding for maintenance and historical preservation through ticket sales and merchandise, so if you love trains take a trip to preserve history!

The Original Hocking Hills Adventures Fun Center has fun for the entire family. There are go karts, mini-golf, a driving range, splash pad and arcade. They have package deals that pare a couple of the activities. The go-karts are adult sized and there are double carts for kids age 3 to 9 to ride with an adult. Enjoy the arcade with video games, pinball, pool table and more!

The Fun Center generally has a Wednesday special, which indluces multiple go-kart rides and mini-golf for one price. The have a fun package which includes all of the activities and a 2 hour canoe trip with the Original Hocking Hills Canoe Livery.

The Nevillebillie Adventures Park has polaris ATV/UTV rentals and tour trail, the Moonshine Mystery Shack Tour, the world's largest ropes course, paintball park and Polaris Slingshot cruises. That's right, rent the Polaris open-air roadster with a 6-speed manual transmission and will hit 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

The Moonshiners’ Mystery Shack is naturally abnormal and will make you look twice when you see people grow and shrink, stand on the wall and water runs uphill. The high ropes course travels across five towers with 64 challenge elements and counting.
